Edmonton Sport Council 2008 – 2012 Strategic Plan
The Edmonton Sport Council Board of Directors undertook to develop a new strategic plan for the period of 2008 - 2012 in the Fall 2007. As a result of this work, the ESC Vision and Mission were refined.
Vision
Previous: Innovation, leadership and partnership in sport.
New: Quality sport experiences for all Edmontonians
Mission
Previous: As an alliance of sport organizations and individuals, we will enhance the participants’ experience by acting as a common voice for sport and by facilitating programs and services that address the needs of Edmonton sport organizations.
New: ESC advocates on behalf of sport to facilitate a better sport experience in Edmonton.
Within the 2008 - 2012 Strategic Plan, three goals were identified. These were that the:
- ESC is recognized as the unified voice for sport in Edmonton.
- ESC positively influences government policy and support for sport.
- ESC has a comprehensive governance framework with knowledgeable and engaged board members.
A number of strategies were identified to advance each of the goals. The following is a brief update as to these strategies and an update is provided at by clicking on the above goals.
