| Purpose | Community Coaching Conferences are intended to both promote and supplement the 3M National Coaching Certification Program. |
| Interest | Coach education - informative sessions on sport skills/techniques, coaching resources, and topics of general interest. Coach networking - a social environment whereby participants can meet other coaches in the community to exchange experiences and ideas. Community involvement - participation from all levels of sport, especially grassroots coaches and administrators. |
| Restrictions | The conference must be designed to attract community coaches. The conference program should include a variety of workshops and a keynote address. Investors Group must receive appropriate recognition as a sponsor of the program in all printed material, in media coverage, and in any forms of advertising. Investors Group banners and logos are available from CAC for this purpose. An Investors Group Community Sport Administrator Award (provided by Investors Group) must be presented to a volunteer sport administrator during the conference. (Please note that only one award recipient can be recognized at each conference.) The organizing committee chairperson must communicates regularly with CAC. |
| Application Process | CAC will accept applications for assistance from organizing committees, which could include such individuals as athletic directors of local schools, parks and recreation department supervisors, city league coordinators, and provincial sport representatives. |
| Application Deadline | Three months before the date of the conference. |
| Other Info | Organizing committees seeking financial assistance for a Community Coaching Conference should submit a proposal that includes a brief description of the conference objectives, a tentative date, a proposed venue and estimate of the number of participants, a list of conference topics, a list of committee members and titles, and a draft of a budget. |
