The Edmonton Sport Council is a non-profit society that advocates on
behalf of sport to facilitate a better sport experience in Edmonton. Members of
the ESC include individuals, sport and other community organizations, business,
and government who believe in, and wish to publicly support, the vision of
quality sport experiences for all Edmontonians.
This is the Non-Members
version of the e-news from the Edmonton Sport Council. This version contains
only a small sample of the information presented in the Members edition of the
e-news. To provide more effective representation, we need everyone's input and
involvement through your membership in the ESC. This will ensure that we bring

Apply to serve on the Premier's
Council Alberta's Cultural Policy defines culture in a broad
sense, to include not only the arts, but also heritage, sport and
recreation, and the natural environment. A Premier's Council on Arts &
Culture has been created to champion this policy. More information on serving on
the Premier's Council is available here.
Request your Gymnasium Space
now Rental applications are being accepted for Gymnasium
rentals from Sept. 1, 2008 to Aug. 31, 2009. More

Federal Provincial / Territorial Sport
Minister's Meeting Canada’s Ministers responsible for sport
and physical activity have shifted focus away from an infrastructure to step
counting, a one time investment in the North American Indigenous Games for 2008,
Canada Games governance, and violence in sport (with a focus on hockey). For

2009 Canada Summer Games - Mission Staff
Needed Team Alberta is seeking individuals to participate as
Mission Staff for the Games being held August 15-29 in Prince Edward Island.
Alberta High Performance Athlete Assistance
Program Eligible athletes are those nominated and accepted
for carding status under Sport Canada's Athlete Assistance Program. For more

Summer Archery Program
The Capital Region Archery Club is offering a discount on
their summer archery drop-in on Saturdays. More information is available

Volunteers Needed - Paralympic Sports Association PSA is a non
profit, volunteer run organization that offers recreation & sport programs
to persons with disabilities. Volunteers are needed for soccer, roller sledge
floor hockey and a teen group. Please phone 439-8687 or send an email.
Canadian Athletic Hockey School - August 11-29 An
information brochure is now available for the 2008
summer hockey school.
