Federal Provincial / Territorial Sport Minister's Meeting
Canada’s Ministers responsible for sport and physical activity have shifted focus away from an infrastructure to step counting, a one time investment in the North American Indigenous Games for 2008, Canada Games governance, and violence in sport (with a focus on hockey). For more information, click

2009 Canada Summer Games - Mission Staff Needed
Team Alberta is seeking individuals to participate as Mission Staff for the Games being held August 15-29 in Prince Edward Island.

Volunteers Needed - Special O Track & Field Meet
Special Olympics Edmonton is hosting this Meet on June 7-8. This event is the qualifier for Canada Games for Athletics. Volunteer training is provided. Volunteers can phone 448-1886 or email.

The King's Kick-Off Golf Tournament
On Friday, May 30, the King's University College Athletics Department will be hosting a Kick-off Golf Tournament, with the inaugural On Wings of an Eagle Benefit Golf Classic set for Saturday, September 6. Both events will take place at the Northern Bear Golf and Country Club, a Jack Nicklaus signature course, located near Sherwood Park.

An information brochure is now available for the 2008 summer hockey school.


Each volunteer for Sports and Recreation organizations contributed an average of 133 hours annually.
