Federal
Provincial / Territorial Sport Minister's Meeting
Canada’s Ministers responsible for sport and physical
activity met in Victoria, BC. The meeting appears to have resulted
in a shift away from an infrastructure focus for the past number
of years. In its place, the Minister’s directed their attention
to targets for physical activity through 14,500 steps a day by
all children and youth, a one time investment in the North American
Indigenous Games for 2008, Canada Games governance (agreement
to implement a new framework), and violence in sport (with a
focus on hockey). .more.
