Sports and athletics have always been a very important part of my life. Whether it was playing soccer, running cross-country, hitting the gym, or going on bike rides with my family, staying active has been a crucial part of maintaining my mental and physical wellbeing. Staying active throughout the pandemic has been challenging, but Edmontonians are fortunate to have access to North America's largest urban park on our doorstep. There's space for everyone to get outside, be active, and enjoy nature.
I have been going on walks around our communities and hitting up trails in the River Valley. Since I haven't been to a gym since COVID-19, I have started doing yoga to maintain some flexibility, and give myself time to reconnect with my body. We’ve been spending a lot of time at home, and it’s easy to fall into a rut and stop exercising. Making time in my day is a challenge, but I know that activity is essential for my performance, health, and creativity.
