Edmontonians are extremely fortunate to have the largest urban park in Canada right in our own backyard. The North Saskatchewan River valley is one of Edmonton's greatest assets, and the trail network gives us all a beautiful opportunity to stay active and explore year-round.
Throughout these challenging times, I have found a lot of comfort in taking socially distanced walks through the river valley to catch up safely with friends and loved ones. As a sitting board member of the River Valley Alliance, I am very lucky to see first-hand the outstanding work that we are undertaking with our regional partners to make the trail network safer and more accessible for all members of our community. There is a lot to be excited about.
Whether you are looking for a new recreational activity, or just a place to clear your head and be with nature, I would encourage anyone to find an area of the river valley that you haven't travelled yet and go check it out.
