As a born and raised Edmontonian, I have been very fortunate to have had access to such a wide variety of sporting and leisure options throughout my life here.
I have always enjoyed exploring the North Saskatchewan River Valley, and to this day still come across new trails while running or cycling with friends. As an active member of our community, from 2018 to 2020 I held a position on the River Valley Alliance’s Community Engagement team and most recently became President of the University of Alberta Cross Country Running Alumni Association.
Both of these organizations encouraged me to advocate for opportunities for members of the public to gain access and utilize leisure opportunities. One of the most exciting ways we are doing this currently is through Challenge Alberta, a COVID-friendly fitness event. Group together with friends, family, or colleagues and travel the full distance from Montana to the NWT and learn about our Province’s vast history and nature beauty.
Challenge Alberta is an excellent platform to stay connected and physically active while navigating the socially distanced world we live in at the moment.
