I have always been someone who thrives from physical activity. There hasn’t been a time in my life where I wasn’t involved in some kind of sport. I grew up playing competitive soccer and volleyball, running cross country, and competing in track and field. I also tried my skills in a few other sports but it wasn’t until grade 10 that I found my passion for volleyball. After high school I went on to play four years on the women’s volleyball team at NAIT and I just finished up there this past spring.
After graduating from NAIT, I knew I needed to find some new activities to keep me moving and active and with the pandemic it became hard to participate in anything that involved a team. Because of this, I started driving out to the mountains anytime I could so that I could hike. When I wasn’t able to make the drive, I spent a lot of time running, walking and biking in the Edmonton river valley and exploring our city!
The pandemic has also given me the opportunity to try out new activities that I have never tried before such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, kayaking and even rollerblading. Edmonton has such great trails that I never explored before this year!
I am so grateful that even during this pandemic, I am still able to go outside and stay active!
