Fall Active

This year on Saturday September 17th, our city will be bustling with events to celebrate Edmonton’s 160 beautifully diverse Community Leagues. From block parties to BBQs, concerts and other family-friendly activities, be sure to check out the event map to find activities that are happening in your neighbourhood!

From October 2-8, join the International Walk to School Week movement and millions of walkers around the world as we walk to school during this week. Register your school online and ideas and participant items will be sent to you. Everyone is welcome to participate!

Visit Snow & Ice Active to help all Edmontonians to Live Active – even when it's colder. If you're looking for some great ideas, check out CBC's 50 Outdoor Things to Do with Your Kids this Winter!

The City of Edmonton Play Rangers program for children and families is usually offered on Saturdays from September to December at a variety of locations. Neighbourhood playgrounds will either have a morning program time or an afternoon program time.

Looking for a serious participation opportunity? Consider:

Interested in trying a new activity? Many organizations offer you the opportunity to try the activity before joining. Winter sport organizations may offer these "Try It" events during September and October, before the season begins. To browse a list of organizations offering a Try It event, go to the Activity Search page and select the "Try It Opportunities" box. You can narrow the search by also selecting your preferred activity.

Still thinking of joining a winter activity? Winter activity registration continues in to the Fall, especially for individual activities and programs beginning in January. Registering in the summer and early fall is essential for team activities. Use the Activity Search to find an organization offering your preferred activity.
