Coats for Kids and Families accepts and distributes (to those in need) winter coats, toques, mitts and scarves, snow pants, winter boots, insulated work wear & work boots. Drop Off Locations | Get a Coat | Distribution

Outdoor clothing for colder weather may also be found at many of Edmonton's clothing resellers.

Sport Central provides sport equipment to the children and youth of qualified families. Families in financial need must obtain a referral from a social service agency, school or community leader, or have an Alberta Works Health Benefits Card, AISH card or City of Edmonton Leisure Access. Sport Central accepts and distributes equipment for 13 different sports; including Hockey, Shinny, Skating, Soccer, Lacrosse, Baseball, Tennis, Badminton, Rollerblading and Bicycles. Those selling used sporting equipment and/or have rentals available:

• Allsports and Cycle sells new & used equipment while accepting trade-ins for a store credit.
• The Skier's Sportshop sells used junior equipment, and accepts a child's equipment for an instore credit.
• Totem Outdoor Outfitters rents winter equipment (skates, snowboards, crosscountry & downhill skis, snowshoes), along with selling new & used equipment, and accepts consignments & trade-ins for store credit.
• United Cycle sells new and used skates and bikes while accepting trade-ins for a store credit.
• Millwoods Sports and Cycle sells new and used bikes while accepting trade-in for a store credit
• Alpine ski hills in and near Edmonton: Snow Valley, Rabbit Hill, Edmonton Ski Club and Sunridge Ski Area.
• Revolution Cycle rents fat bikes.
• River Valley Adventure Co. on the sunny north bank of the North Saskatchewan River in Louise McKinney Park rents snowshoes and fat bikes.
• Edmonton Nordic Ski Club for season long rentals.

• The City of Edmonton rents skates at William Hawrelak Park Pavilion for use in the park.
• Some community leagues have skates and other skating equipment for community members to use on their rinks. Check with your local community league.
